The Road to COP Webinar Series: Global South Voices I: Scale & Success Stories in Sustainable Nitrogen Management

About this session: This session is the penultimate episode of iN-Net's Road to COP31 Webinar Series, building toward two moments this November: the 10th International Nitrogen Conference (N2026) in Kyoto, Japan (Nov 2–6), where the international nitrogen community will co-create the

Sustainable Nitrogen Management Framework (the “Kyoto Declaration”); and the 31 st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 31) in Antalya, Turkey.

This session is one of two highlighting perspectives from the Global South. It brings together voices from China, India, and Brazil to explore how large-scale action on nitrogen pollution is already unfolding. It includes genuine policy successes, such as China's turnaround in cropland N₂O emissions since 2015 following its “zero growth” fertilizer policy, alongside India's and Brazil's own nitrogen policy responses.
