iN-Net Brief Series

The program's flagship effort to translate complex nitrogen science into clear, actionable insight. Each brief synthesizes the current scientific consensus on a key topic in nitrogen science and policy, written to be concise, accessible, and rigorously evidence-based — not to advocate for any specific policy or political position.

To celebrate NYC Climate Week, we're launching the series with three briefs:

Nitrogen and Ozone

How reactive nitrogen shapes atmospheric ozone at ground level and aloft.

Nitrogen and Biodiversity

Nitrogen loading's effects on ecosystems, species loss, and habitat change.

Nitrogen and Climate

Nitrogen's role as a greenhouse-gas driver and climate feedback.

Nitrogen Data Dashboard

iN-Net is building a data dashboard to aggregate and visualize existing nitrogen data in one location, pulling from iN-Net partner networks and other sources from across the globe to support science-based targets and baselines for NAPs.

Crafting National Action Plans

Coming soon: resources for stakeholders involved in the creation of national action plans.

Examples

Japan is the most recent country to craft a National Action Plan to limit nitrogen waste! See their progress here.
