Working Groups
What are the iN-Net working groups?
The working groups are at the center of iN-Net’s activities, where researchers and stakeholders from across the globe meet regularly to coordinate and drive nitrogen research and policy goals.
They are organized according to the four key gaps identified as central to translating halving N waste targets into national action plans: data and indicators, governance, and interactions between N and climate – with communication as a cross-cutting theme.
Who can participate?
Each working group is comprised of practitioners, policy/decision-makers, researchers and early career professionals with representation from all major world regions. Members are selected through an application process to ensure diverse representation and a balance between networks, disciplines, regions, gender, and stakeholders.
Working group members serve for two to four years of the project to ensure both continuity and the opportunity for new ideas and experience to be reintroduced throughout the project’s lifecycle.
What kind of outputs do the working groups produce?
Each working group dedicated 6+ months after recruitment was completed to developing a clear and cogent plan to address their theme. Some of the outputs they determined include a review, perspective and/or meta-analysis paper on their topic, policy-relevant boundary objects including policy briefs and webinars, and the development of grant proposals on specific sub-themes in the final year of the project.
